Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction Treatment
Description
For those struggling with symptoms related to teeth clenching/grinding that could include: jaw pain, jaw stiffness, trouble opening or closing the mouth, and pain when chewing or talking. This treatment involves myofascial release of the muscles of mastication (those we use to chew our food) accessed through the outside of the jaw and depending on the results of the assessment, intraoral work may be indicated. Intraoral work includes the Practitioner using a gloved hand to access the deep muscle tissue found through the inside of the mouth behind the teeth and gums.
